T-Mobile Complete: Is A $300 Contract-Free BlackBerry Curve Too Expensive?

I just happened to be in a Wal-Mart the other day, and, as I walked by the cell phone area, casually asked one of the folks working there how the BlackBerry devices were doing.  The young lady told me that they were flying off the shelves, especially the new T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve (8520).  I asked if they  offered the pre-paid ( T-Mobile Complete ) version as well and she said yes, but, that she couldn’t remember selling any as most people thought that $300 was way too expensive. I know that this conversation is completely subjective and based just the thoughts and opinion of one Wal-Mart associate, so, I pose the question to you… Is the T-Mobile Complete BlackBerry Curve 8520 too expensive?
